This song came out of a year-long residency as songwriter in residence at my church. During this time I would try to write songs out of the scripture that we were using on a particular Sunday. This song came from the IIPeter 3. The particular phrase “With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day” is one that struck me before I tried to put it into song, and so I tried to center this song around that phrase.
